Congratulations on your decision to be married in our church. Wedding preparation takes time, so please contact the Parish Office well in advance of your anticipated wedding date so that you can begin the necessary process.

Arrangements for marriage are to be made at least six (6) months prior to the Wedding date. In case of previous marriages, be sure to contact us at least one (1) year in advance due to a possibility that an annulment may be necessary. Please fill in the Marriage form below or call for an appointment. For Parish Office Hours see the Contact page of the website or the latest bulletin.

Please call: 203-734-0005 to make arrangements.

Marriage Encounter

This program is for couples planning marriage in the Catholic Church who desire to deepen, develop and enrich their lives together.  It is a required program and is currently being offered online through the Archdiocese of Hartford Office of Family Life.  All couples MUST complete this six (6) week course.  You may register for the Marriage Preparation Program here.

Preparing for the Day

You have much to do to prepare for your big day.  We will try to assist you as much as possible.

Typically the number of time we will need to meet is left open however, we will need to meet to gather information related to your individual circumstances.

Documentation is very important and can take time to gather.  We will need Birth Certificates, evidence of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation (if completed).

We have a document that helps you plan for your day which included possible readings, music, etc.  That can be found here.

FOCCUS Inventory

St. Michael the Archangel Parish is a registered organization with FOCCUS Inc. to administer the FOCCUS Inventory. These sessions will be conducted by a Certified FOCCUS Facilitator, Deacon Robert Carter.

FOCCUS stands for Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding and Study. The purpose of the inventory is to ensure couples communicate on important issues in their relationship before and after marriage by keeping those lines of communication open.

The “inventory” may be taken online but must be completed separately. This is not a predictor of how married life will be and is only a tool in assessing communication skills. The Facilitator will discuss this process with you prior to scheduling your session.

Those wishing to enter the Sacrament of Marriage must complete the following form by selecting the link below.  This form will provide basic information and enable us to assist you. The form has two sections, one for the Bride and one for the Groom. Be sure to complete the entire form.  Upon receipt of the form, you will be contacted.
